It began just as it’ll probably end…with drinks that lead to a hangover. Last year for my birthday, my family and I went to one of my favorite restaurants, Olive and Ivy. If you haven’t been, you must! It’s truly the best! We ate yummy food and drank delicious wine and had a great ass time. BECCA FUN FACT: I used to work there but I’m completely unbiased. The head chef made an amazing charcuterie board for us and our server, a good friend that I worked with at a previous job, was amazing. They even gave us their gold room which is typically reserved for events or large parties. Afterwards we thought we’d get one more drink and head home. We got another drink…and another…and oops! Shots! We did not go home! We went to more bars and as more company joined, more shots followed! Along with more shots came one of my best friends, Jamee’s famous toast and a group sing-along to “Ain’t No Fun” by Snoop Dogg! We ended the night by going home, taking off my makeup, and realizing, “Oh crap! I have to work in the AM!”
I woke up at 5 am feeling like death, but I got my shit together and went to work. Since Jamee and I work together, she saw the bad shape I was in. Being the best friend that she is, she drove me to the gas station to get all the hangover cure fixings and then some. We come back and they did not help! I was now in the stage of pain and regret. “Why’d I drink so much?! Whose idea was it to get shots anyways?!” But overall, such a fun time!
Year 23, I went to many concerts, visited California and Mexico, met the love of my life, went to Disneyland, moved in with him and oh, I started this blog!
Out of all of my ups and downs this year, starting a blog has been so much fun and also stressful. As I previously stated, I am a huge procrastinator and it takes a village to get my motor running. Nevertheless, it’s up a running, a bit slow but I am getting there. One of my goals for year 24 will be to get back on track with my blog. I have some amazing events and topics coming up that I cannot wait to share with everyone.
So join me on my journey as I live it up another year. Here’s to 24, bring it on bitches!
