I Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghost

Happy Holla-ween!

Costumes! And Decorating! And Drinking! Oh My!

Halloween 2017 in California started out by decorating our apartment. Last year, we decorated a few portions of our home like some of our favorite movies. Behind our couch, I created a wall tapestry from the Netflix Series: Stranger Things with the lights and a sheet with the alphabet on it. On our mirror in the hallway, we wrote ‘REDRUM’ with lipstick just like Danny from The Shining. In our living room, we put together a Harry Potter library and like the second movie, we created a sign saying “The chamber of secrets has been opened, enemies of the heir beware.” We also had an area with the Purge masks and weapons, in case anyone needed to cleanse their souls. AND OF COURSE, our Halloween décor wouldn’t be complete without a bar! We set up a mad scientist lab with a bar set, alcohol, mixers in glass test tubes and beakers with cauldron shot glasses.

Our Halloween festivities didn’t end at decorating the apartment. For every night of October we watched a horror, thriller, or suspenseful movie. We THRIVE at DIY last minute costumes and you bet your ass we came out guns blazing! Our first night we were deadly señoritas, second night we were circus freaks, third night Rachel and Phoebe from F.R.I.E.N.D.S., and last but not least, on the fourth night we were Disney Villains. I was the Queen of Hearts (naturally) and Jamee, my best friend, was Sid from Toy Story (naturally).

Halloween 2018 began with amazing weather in Arizona! Each weekend we had something going on. The first weekend we decorated the house, watched scary movies and I tested out a makeup look or two. The second weekend Jamee hosted a Halloween party, we dressed up as a Vampire and Witch and monster mashed all night long! The third weekend was my rest weekend cause… ya girl needs sleep! The fourth weekend we had a Halloween game night with friends and I dressed up as Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. I couldn’t choose between the cartoon Lydia or Tim Burton’s Lydia so I did a little bit of both and, of course… Jamee was my Beetlejuice. The week of Halloween started with carving pumpkins on Monday. On Tuesday, I did a skull-crow look, wasn’t intentional but hey, if the hat fits wear it! On actual Halloween, I recreated the Ouija Board on my face and neck. So far, my favorite look! Not even a full 24 hours after Halloween and I am already planning my outfits for next year! Any thoughts?

[FUN FACT: Day in day out, I LOVE horror movies. Leave me a comment with your favorite scary movie!]
